Guest of Honor, Hungary

Reencountering Hungary through Books and Events

Grand music, magnificent nightscapes, savory desserts, and fine literature—these are the things that come to mind when we think of Hungary. Though geographically distant, Hungary always arouses curiosity. If this is the case for you, here’s good news: in commemoration of 30 years of Korea-Hungary diplomacy, this year’s Seoul International Book Fair invites Hungary as the guest of honor to share with the audience Hungary’s diverse cultures including literature. The Hungary Booth exhibits various Hungarian publications including books recently translated into Korean and hosts various events for cultural experiences. Around the event halls of the book fair, Hungarian writers and publishers share first-hand stories on their culture and publication market. Also, special event offers a taste of famous Hungarian desserts, so don’t miss out on this rare opportunity to discover the unknown Hungary!
