Theme Seminar

Over the past few years, human life has been put on pause, but this hasn't just been an interruption but also a starting point for connection. The time is now to gather and talk about things that preoccupied the world before: climate change, social crisis, and sustainable individual lives. This seminar will have experts in a range of fields discuss and contemplate the “small steps” the world will take to the next page.

Age of Climate Crisis: Can My Actions Cool the Earth?

With growing global awareness that climate change can no longer be ignored, many are taking part in efforts toward plogging (picking up trash while jogging), zero waste, and upcycling. Yet doubt remains over whether small individual actions can make a difference. This lecture introduces practices that demonstrate how big change starts from one person’s small action.

One Big Step Forward from One Small Step Behind

Standing a small step behind or to the side, this session discusses the culture of Korean society embedded in meritocracy and organizational culture as well as conflict and polarity and explores the future.

Living One Small Step Forward for Sustainability

Sustainability, which represents humanity’s efforts toward coexistence, is a common concept in numerous fields such as biodiversity, Earth, prosperity, peace, and partnerships. Despite active research on practicing sustainability, approaching the subject at the individual level remains difficult. This session explores the meaning of sustainability in an era of rapid change and offers suggestions for individual actions.
