Anthropocene

With the topics of “Entanglement, Anthropocene, Virus,”
SIBF 2020 presents a series of three Anthropocene lectures as one of its theme lectures under “Entanglement.” Experts on various fields such as virus, climate, arts, and society will explore the topics and have multi-layered discussion on “entangled” living beings (Earth, life, human, virus) and solutions.

The Way We Understand Virus: Anthropocene Perspective

Speakers review how COVID-19 spreads in our society and explore various risk factors brought by the virus that affect the society. There will be a discussion on linkage of human, virus, and a living space with a concept called “Rewilding.”

The Way We Understand Virus: Entanglement among Human ― Nature ― Technology

Speakers discuss politics of mask, air, and virus, and explore the effect of the virus and fine dust on humankind. While touching on the double-sidedness of testing kit, speakers explore the idea of social distancing due to COVID-19 from a new angle.

Post COVID-19:Again, Anthropocene Perspective

Speakers touch on the impact of climate change, 

wildfire, extinction, and natural disasters caused by global warming on living organisms. They also discuss stories about body and culture being treated as “nonmainstream” in the Anthropocene, and architectural, artistic, social designs in need during disaster.
