Dot's Watch is the world's first Braille smartwatch, featuring four cells and a touch sensor on its display. In addition to its watch functions, it can be connected to smartphones via Bluetooth to receive real-time notifications, messages, calls, and more. Referred to as the "Apple Watch for the visually impaired," it has sold around 3,000 units both domestically and internationally and supports 11 languages across 11 countries.
This watch is designed for both the visually impaired and sighted individuals. Similar to regular smartwatches, when connected to a smartphone via Bluetooth, it displays texts, calls, and content in Braille. For instance, when a call is received, the watch vibrates, and through the Dot Watch, users can identify and answer or reject the call. Instead of a traditional glass display found on smartwatches, the Dot Watch features a Braille display, consisting of four Braille cells that raise and lower to convey information in Braille. Just below this display is a touch sensor that allows users to scroll left or right and read longer content. It can also be used for basic functions without connecting to a smartphone. Moreover, even sighted individuals can use the "Tactile Mode" to count the raised dots corresponding to hours and minutes and read the time without knowing Braille.
